Energy Audits
Electrical power companies in western Washington routinely have funds available to help businesses upgrade to more energy efficient equipment as a conservation measure. Air Compressor Service has extensive experience and expertise in helping companies evaluate whether their compressed air system is a candidate for a power company grant (typically for 50% of the new equipment cost).
Air Compressor Service has a 100% perfect record of our energy grant applicants achieving actual kilowatt hour savings that exceed estimates. This means that if we tell you that you can save X number of dollars per year on your power bills, you can be confident that figure is conservative and your actual savings will be higher.
What’s involved? First we insure that your current system is operating at a reasonably efficient level and evaluate the appropriateness of your equipment for your type of operation. Next we install data loggers to record one week of power used to produce compressed air. This raw data is then analyzed and charted by a special computer program and compared to the energy consumption specifications of the proposed new equipment. The difference between the energy consumption of your current system and that of the new system will determine whether your upgrade project is a good candidate for a grant and the likely size of the grant. (See sample Case Studies)
If you decide to apply for a grant, we will assist you with the application process. Local power companies typically will have a decision back to you within 60-90 days.
As attractive as an energy grant may be, it is important to remember that the greatest savings comes from your reduced power consumption. Also, other side benefits are often realized, such as improved reliability or improved air quality.
